Pigmentation

Excessive sun exposure, age, medication, and hormones are the main causes of pigmentation. Pigmentation can occur on the face, hands, arms, and chest and may at times be difficult to treat.

About our Pigmentation treatments

Our skin gets its colour from a pigment called melanin, which is made by melanocyte cells.  Pigmentation occurs when these cells become damaged or unhealthy. Excessive sun exposure, age, medication, and hormones are the main causes of pigmentation. Pigmentation can occur on the face, hands, arms, and chest and may at times be difficult to treat.

Illness or injury can cause your skin to change colour, becoming darker (hyperpigmentation) or lighter (hypopigmentation).

Types of hyperpigmentation include age spots, melasma, and post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation.

Types of hypopigmentation include vitiligo and albinism

We offer various treatments for pigmentation, such as Microneedling, IPL Skin Rejuvenation and Chemical Peels

Frequently asked questions

WHAT IF I HAVE PIGMENTATION & DISCOLOURATION?

DermaPen Microneedling is the treatment for you.

DermaPen is a skin micro-needling treatment with minimum downtime which promotes scarless healing and natural collagen production in the skin to improve the appearance of scars.

Dermapen Advanced Oscillating Vertical Needling (AOVN™) technology uses Microderm needles to vertically rejuvenate the skin. The automated vibrating function allows up to 1300 micro-channels per second to be created in the skin. The channels can carry up to 80% more topical nutrients. This allows for the delivery of treatment actives to feed underlying cells. This increased absorption accelerates more stimulation, repair and faster-resurfacing results. The 90-degree angle triggers the body’s natural regenerative process whilst promoting flawless healing.

WHAT IF I HAVE AGE SPOTS & SUN DAMAGE?

IPL Photorejuvenation

Photorejuvenation, which uses Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) technology, can help reduce the appearance of some of the most common skin woes, including brown spots and sun damage.

We recommend a course of sessions however some people see a difference after the first session.

WHAT IF I HAVE ROSACEA?

Both IPL Photorejuvenation and Microneedling can be a good solution for Rosacea, as they improve and increase the health and thickness of the skin.
